Description:  A Unit Assistant performs direct nursing duties related to the personal care and comfort of the residents.  Assists the Certified Nursing Assistant in the administration of resident care.  Performs services necessary for the cleanliness and safe functioning of the Nursing Unit.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate competency with a Competency Skills Evaluation tool once trained.
  • Continued employment is contingent on obtaining certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant in New York State within the specified timeframe.
  • Prefer prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Status:   2:45pm – 11:15pm (40 hours)

$15.40 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service.

DEPARTMENT:  Rehabilitative Medicine

The purpose of this job is to provide technical physical therapy services in accordance with patient care plans, department policies and procedures and within the scope of practice for Physical Therapy Assistants taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

EDUCATION:  Possess Associate degree in Physical Therapy.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  Possess a New York State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

EXPERIENCE:  Possess no prior experience.

REQUISITION # 154    SHIFT: 7:30AM – 4:00PM           STATUS:  40 HOURS (full-time)

Salary Range: $21.34 – $25.88 / hour

Certified Nurse Assistant

Description: Performs various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Facility policies and objectives. Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene. Takes and records patients temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under the clinical guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse. Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies. Serves and collects patients’ food trays and provides between meal nourishments. Processes patients’ personal laundry.

Requires:

  • NYS Certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.)

Status: Casual

$19.01 – $21.14 / hour.  Experience differential after one year of service.
