Description:  The Float Pool Licensed Practical Nurse II is a care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame on an assigned unit within the limits of his/her education and the Nurse Practice Act taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.  The limits of the Licensed Practical Nurse II responsibility is defined by hospital policy in keeping with the New York State Code, Rules and Regulations and the NYS Education Department.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or completion of required components to satisfy LPN licensing examination.
  • Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Possess current NYS license for Licensed Practical Nurse.  American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first six (6) months of hire.  Completion of IV course, phlebotomy, blood administration course and EKG within six (6) months of hire.
  • One (1) or more years of previous experience in an acute hospital setting.

Status:   MED/SURG 3rd Floor Nursing/WEST – 6:45am – 7:15pm (24 hours)

Rate of Pay:  $21.71 – $26.25 per hour.

IBCLC Outpatient Coordinator

Description:  Collaborate with all Outpatient Coordinator to promote service line growth of all outpatient services, including lactation services.  Provide overall coordination, planning and management of patient, family and staff education related to breastfeeding.  The IBCLC Outpatient Coordinator is an RN who assumes responsibility and accountability for the planning, priority setting, coordination and evaluation of the lactation services, of the patient care provided for designated patient populations.  Assumes responsibility for the management of financial and material resources.  Adheres to the NLH mission and core values.  Has twenty four (24) hour accountability and responsibility for the human resource and outcome management for the patient population treated in the lactation services and all NLH staff involved.  Supports, plans, implements and evaluates the goals and policies of NLH.  Performs administrative duties, coordinating unit operations, reporting the the Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer.

  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing Program with Associate’s degree or diploma.  International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.  Possess current IBCLC certification.
  • One (1) or more years of previous experience in obstetrics, pediatrics, antenatal or post partum health care setting as an RN.  Minimum of one (1) year as an IBCLC.  One (1) year of previous experience in managing billing and outpatient case load.
  • Prefer two (2) years management experience.

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm  (40 hours)  Hours will fluctuate based on departmental needs.

Primary Care Center Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Site Manager

Willing to train new Grads!! 

Description:  The Site Manager is the designated leader for Nathan Littauer’s Johnstown Primary/Specialty Care Center site, its patient population and assigned staff. The Site Manager has the responsibility and accountability for all patient care activities, site operations, staff function and physical space integrity.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Possess a current New York State license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
  • Prefer a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.
  • Basic life support (BLS) within sixty (60) days of hire.
  • Current New York State License for Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Possess prior nursing managerial experience.
  • Possess two (2) years of nursing management experience in a physician office setting.

Status:  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours).  Hours will fluctuate depending on practice needs.

From:  $30.90 to $46.24 per hour.  

Staff Nurse

Description:  The Primary Care/Specialty Care RN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame in order to provide care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and coordination with other health care team members, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. Provides nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, works cooperatively with ancillary nursing, provider staff and other disciplines in maintaining standards for professional nursing and hospital practice in the Primary/Specialty Care Center and Endoscopy Center.

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.  American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).  Certification to be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Prefer American Heart Association Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Possess one (1) year clinical outpatient ambulatory surgery or endoscopy center setting.
  • Prefer Endoscopy Center experience.

Status:  8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours)  Staff Nurse will float to an alternate PCC site when the Endoscopy Suite is not active day-to-day.

From:  $30.90 to $46.24 per hour.
