Patient Care Technician – Emergency Care Center***There is a $5,000 sign on bonus for full-time Patient Care Technician and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for part-time Patient Care Technicians***The Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Technician provides clerical support, including order entry, as the patient care and patient flow requires.Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure and standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.SHIFT: 6:45AM – 7:15PM STATUS: 36 hoursEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific groups, which include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION: None at start. Basic Life Support certification within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions.EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience as an ER or Special Care Nurse Assistant, Maternity Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.PREFERRED: Emergency Department experience, Critical Care experience, EMT experience, medical office assistant training.$17.02 per hour.
