POSITION TITLE: Medical Surgical Clinical Coordinator  |  DEPARTMENT: Medical-Surgical/3 West

JOB PURPOSE: The Medical Surgical Nursing Clinical Coordinator provides resource support, educator, and facilitator. Medical Surgical Nursing Clinical Coordinator oversees operations on the unit providing oversight to staff and new orientees.  Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate staffing plans 24/7, staff development, providing clinical expertise, and monitoring, and compliance with regulatory agencies.  Collaborates with education to oversee new orientees transition to clinicians. Serves as a clinical resource assisting to provide evaluations of practice and quality of nursing care delivered.  Serves as liaison with providers of clinical situations and concerns. Facilitates use of research and evidence-based practice in clinical units.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Applied Associates of Science in Nursing. 

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.  Previous experience in Meditech (Expanse) applications.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).  AORN Certification preferred.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor of Science/Nursing Degree (BSN) and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • One (1) year previous leadership related experience.

KNOWLEDGE:  Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, DNV requirements, bargaining and non-bargaining unit agreements, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, child abuse reporting requirements, scope of practice.  Possess knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.

RATE OF PAY: $35.57 – $50.47 / HOUR

SHIFT: Full-time (36 hours) 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Description: Performs various chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic and other tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Organizes and assesses all work assignments to determine priorities, to segregate test groups and to analyze results.  Performs complex laboratory tests according to written protocol. Analyzes, interprets and evaluates the reliability of test results for which he/she is responsible. Exercises independent judgment in the conduct of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NYS CLT registration/licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences
  • One (1) year clinical laboratory experience

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

From:  $33.18 – $43.75 / hour.  

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

POSITION TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

DEPARTMENT: Nathan Littauer Nursing Home / Extended Care Facility

JOB PURPOSE:  The Nursing Home LPN is a care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her residents within the limits of his/her education and the Nurse Practice Act, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.  The limits of the LPN’s responsibility are defined by Nursing Home policy in keeping with the NYS code, rules, and regulations and the NYS education department.

Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the state regulations for LPN, established Hospital and Nursing Home standards, nursing department/unit structure, process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Nursing Home and nursing department taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: 

  • HSD/GED; graduation from an accredited LPN program or completion of required components to satisfy LPN licensing examination. 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: 

  • Possess current NYS registration as LPN. 

EXPERIENCE:  None.

PREFERRED:  One (1) or more years’ experience in skilled nursing or previous experience in a health care setting.

RATE OF PAY: $23.69 – $28.23 /HOUR     SHIFT: 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM  (40 HOURS)
