Description:  The Licensed Practical Nurse II is a care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for their patients within the limits of their education and the Nurse Practice Act taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.  The limits of the Licensed Practical Nurse’s responsibility as defined by hospital policy (see Generic Structure Standards) in keeping with the New York State Code, Rules and Regulations, and the NYS Education Department. 

Required:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or completion of required components to satisfy LPN licensing examination.  
  • Valid NYS registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer.  
  • Completion of IV course & blood administration course within three (3) months of hire or transfer.  
  • Prefer one (1) or more years experience in an acute care hospital or previous experience in an acute healthcare setting. 

Status:  9:45am – 10:15pm (36 hours)

From:  $21.71 – $26.25 per hour.  

Patient Billing Representative

Description:  To verify that all patients have proper insurance coverage necessary to cover the costs of receiving hospital care or to arrange some other mechanism for payment insuring the Hospital will receive payment.  Gathers all information needed in order to complete the billing process.  Assist walk in patients with questions on their accounts.  Updates Meditech with insurance information supplied by patient services.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Possess knowledge of third party payors.

Status:  8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours)

From:  $20.18 to $23.18 per hour.

Coder – Health Information Management

JOB TITLE: Coder    |    DEPARTMENT: Health Information Management

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, assigns diagnostic, procedural, & E&M codes to patient medical record. Codes charts under the ICDCM, PCS and HCPCS Systems related to patient’s visit in order provide statistical, payment and DRG assignments. Abstracts required data into hospital abstracting system and assigns codes and charges based on documentation. Responsible for accurate charge capture and coding to support timely billing and hospital reimbursement. Coder must work in a self-directed, team environment, to keep revenue cycle performance current.

Minimum Education

  • Equivalent to an associate’s degree in medical information technology (with college level courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICDCM coding, and prospective payment) required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College level course in Anatomy & Physiology required.
  • Evidence of successful complete of basic coding coursework (i.e. AHIMA, AAPC, college, etc.)

Minimum Work Experience

  • 6 months of experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record preferred.
  • Eligible for designation as a CCS-P or CCS preferred.
  • Recent health information, ER or hospital financial background preferred.  

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Medical Terminology.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (LEVEL II)

  • 3+ years’ experience as a coder, assigning codes.
  • AAPC, CCS or CCS-P certification required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Ability to facilitate workflow and education activities independently.
  • Working knowledge of EHR systems.

STATUS: 40 hours    |  SHIFT: Hours varied

SCHEDULE: This position qualifies for a hybrid work schedule, once training is completed.

PAY RATE: Compensation is commensurate with educational background and relevant professional experience.

Coder I  $23.15 – $26.15  / HOUR
Coder II $24.38 – $27.38  / HOUR

Operating Room Orderly

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide transportation and specific Operating Room Orderly functions under the direction of the OR/PACU Manager, Assistant Manager or Registered Nurse taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.  

Requires:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Prefer previous Operating Room Orderly experience.  

Status:  8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours)

$15.40 per hour.  Experience differential after one (1) year of service.  

 

Stores Clerk/Food Service

Description:  The purpose of the job is to receive, store, check and issue all supplies from Bulk Storage areas.  Assures documentation of all incoming nd outgoing transactions according to procedure(s) to insure accurate inventory.  

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prefer two (2) years of stock supply/inventory work experience.
  • Possess knowledge of safe food handling procedures.  

Status:  6:00am – 7:30pm (40 hours) 

$15.40 per hour.  Experience differential after one (1) year of service.
