Patient Care Technician

***There is a $5,000 sign on bonus for full time Patient Care Technician and a $2,500 sign on bonus for part time Patient Care Technician***

Description:  The PCT provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital and monitors a safe and clean environment.  The PCT provides clerical support, including order entry as the patient care and patient flow requires.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions.
  • One (1) year experience as an ER or SCU nurse assistant, Maternity nurse assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prefer Emergency Department experience, Critical Care experience, EMT experience, medical office assistant training.

Status:   ECC 6:45pm – 7:15am (36 hours)

$17.02 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service. 

Nurse Assistant

Description: Performs various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Hospital policies and objectives.

Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene.  Takes and records patients’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under clinical guidance of Registered Professional Nurse.  Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies.  Serves and collects patient food trays and provides between meal nourishment’s.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • One (1) year nurse’s aide type training or equivalent

Status:  MS3W 6:45pm – 7:15am (16 hours)

$16.91 – $19.04 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service.

Special Care Unit (SCU) Registered Nurse (RN)

***There is a $20,000 sign on bonus for full time Night shift RN with three (3) years  of acute hospital experience***

***There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for full time day position RN with up to three (3) years of acute hospital experience***

Description:  Renders professional care diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provisions of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. 

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AAS or diploma from an approved School of Nursing. 
  • Prefer Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. 
  • Current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).  Certification to be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer. 
  • Prefer one (1) or more years experience in acute care nursing.  
  • American Heart Association Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
