Nursing Supervisor

Description:  The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the patient care units in a centralized nursing environment. The Nursing Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of patient care within the Division of Nursing taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs, investigates and resolves complaints and maintains a safe environment for staff and patients. The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire hospital in the absence of Department Heads and Administration with the support of the designated “Administrator-on-call”.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within the first six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Possess five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent.
  • Prefer two (2) years nursing management experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, accreditation requirements, administrative policies, nursing structure standards, procedures and protocols, union contracts, child abuse reporting, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, scope of practice, documentation computers and communication systems.  Possess knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.  Possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

Status:   Casual (Varied)

Rate of Pay: $33.92 – $ /hour

Certified Nurse Assistant

****There is a $7,000 sign on bonus for full-time Certified Nurse Assistants and a $3,500 sign on bonus for part-time Certified Nurse Assistants****

Description: Performs various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Facility policies and objectives. Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene. Takes and records patients temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under the clinical guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse. Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies. Serves and collects patients’ food trays and provides between meal nourishments. Processes patients’ personal laundry.

Requires:

  • NYS Certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.)

Status: Full-time

$19.01 – $21.14 / hour.  Experience differential after one year of service. 

Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor

Description:  The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the resident care units.  The Nursing Supervisor assists the clinical coordinator in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of resident care within the Department of Nursing taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs, and the investigation and resolution of complaints.  The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire Nursing Home in the absence of Administration with the support of the designated Director of Nursing on call.

  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.

  • Prefer two (2) years of nursing management experience in a skilled nursing facility.
