The Nurse Manager is the first line manager designated as the leader for a specified nursing unit, its patient population, and the assigned staff.  The Nurse Manager has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all patient care activities taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.   Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital and nursing department.

EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited nursing program with associate’s degree or diploma.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group {i.e.:  neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric} served on their assigned unit.

PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science/Nursing Degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within the first six (6) months of hire. Medication competency certification. 

PREFERRED:  Certification in area of practice. (Consistent with the type of patient population to be managed).  Two (2) years management experience.

KNOWLEDGE:  Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, accreditation requirements, bargaining and non-bargaining unit agreements, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, child abuse reporting requirements, scope of practice.

SHIFT:  6:45AM – 11:15PM          STATUS: 40 HOURS (Hours will fluctuate based on departmental needs)

PAY RATE: $37.85 – $50.48

Staff Physical Therapist

****There is a $7,500 sign on bonus for full time Staff Physical Therapist****

Description:  The purpose of this job is to evaluate patients, develop care plans and administer or direct the administration of physical agents and procedures utilized in rehabilitative medicine as prescribed by a referring physician, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

  • Possess a Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Prefer Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Possess a New York State Physical Therapist License.  Possess CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) certification.
  • Possess no prior experience.  New graduate is acceptable, on the job training will be provided to new graduates for up to six (6) months.
  • Prefer prior experience in a rehabilitative medicine setting.

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

Rate of Pay: $32.56 – $ /hour
– Compensation for this position is based on individual skill set, experience, and qualifications.

Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Description:  Renders professional care diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provisions of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.

Requires:

  • HSD/GED
  • AAS or diploma from an approved School of Nursing.

Patient Care Technician

***There is a $5,000 sign on bonus for full time Patient Care Technician and a $2,500 sign on bonus for part time Patient Care Technician***

Description:  The PCT position provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital and monitors a safe and clean environment.  The PCT provides clerical support, including order entry as the patient care and patient flow requires. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions. 
  • One (1) year experience as an ER or SCU nurse assistant, Maternity nurse assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting. 
  • Prefer Emergency department experience, Critical Care experience, EMT experience, medical office assistant training. 

Status:  6:45pm – 7:15am (24 hours) SCU

$17.02 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service. 

Nurse Assistant

Description:  The Nurse Assistant provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment in order to assist nursing and medical personnel in the routine care of patients and the organization of the nursing unit taking into account the individual patient’s age-specific needs.  

Requires:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions. 
  • Prefer Nurse Assistant Certification or previous experience in a healthcare setting.  

Status:  6:45am – 3:15pm (16 hours)

$16.91 – $19.04 per hour.  Experience differential after one (1) year of service.
