JOB TITLE: MANAGER IPA/NAVIGATOR PROGRAM  

JOB PURPOSE:  The purpose of this job is to facilitate the development, implementation and coordination of the Hospitals participation in the NYS Health Benefit Exchange: In Person Assistors and Navigators grant project

EDUCATION:  Possess a High School diploma or equivalency.

PREFERRED:  Possess an associate’s degree in a Healthcare Human Services field.  Bi-lingual or multi-lingual preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  Possess Licensure/Certification/Registration from the NYSDOH within 2 months of hire.

EXPERIENCE:  Possess experience in program planning, demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals and groups.  Demonstrated public speaking/presentation/teaching abilities and demonstrated interviewing skills.

PREFERRED:  Possess two (2) years’ experience in Social Services or health related field involving program planning and public speaking with supervision experience.

RATE OF PAY: $21.04 – $32.88 / HOUR

SHIFT: Full-time (40 hours) 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Nursing Supervisor

****There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for full time evening/night Nursing Supervisors****

JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the patient care units in a centralized nursing environment.  The Nursing Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of patient care within the Division of Nursing taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs, investigates and resolves complaints and maintains a safe environment for staff and patients.  The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire hospital in the absence of Department Heads and Administration with the support of the designated “Administrator-on-call”.

Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the hospital and nursing department.

EDUCATION:  Graduate from an accredited nursing program with associate’s degree or diploma required.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served.

PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within the first 6 months of hire or transfer.   

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent. 

PREFERRED: Two (2) years nursing management experience.

KNOWLEDGE: Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, accreditation requirements, administrative policies, nursing structure standards, procedures and protocols, union contracts, child abuse reporting requirements, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, scope of practice, documentation computers and communication systems.  Possess knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.  Possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

SHIFT:  5:45PM – 6:15AM | STATUS:  36 hours (Hours will fluctuate depending on departmental needs)

RATE OF PAY: $33.92 – $ / HOUR

Laboratory Supervisor

****There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for full time Laboratory Supervisor****

Description:  Supervise the overall operation of daily activities in the department including the clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology.  

Requires:  

  • Current registration certificate for licensure with New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT). 
  • Prefer BSMT/ASCP.
  • Six (6) years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience subsequent to qualifying as a clinical laboratory technologist.  The laboratory supervisor must meet this and/or other requirements listed under section 58-1.4 of NYSDOH SubPart 58-1 for clinical laboratories. 

Status:  8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours)  

Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist

****There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for full time Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist****

Description:  Work in collaboration with the Supervisor of the department and the Laboratory Manager to ensure that all departmental procedures and policies are compiled with appropriately.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be able to perform all duties of a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.  In addition, the Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for technical aspects of the department including: ensuring regulatory compliance, computer file maintenance, writing procedures, review of quality control results, maintaining instrumentation.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will utilize technical expertise and leadership qualities to aid in problem solving within the department.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be able to oversee operations of the department independently, on a day to day basis.  

Requires:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in medical technology or equivalent or Bachelors degree with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences and one year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Prefer BSMT/ASCP.
  • Experience preferable but not required as long as education licensure requirement is met.

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

From:  $33.82 to $43.96 hour.
