Nathan Littauer Auxiliary and Volunteers Host Annual Tree of Lights

Littauer Auxiliary’s Annual Tree of Lights Ceremony – A Celebration of Hope and Love

On the evening of December 2nd, our Auxiliary hosted its Annual Tree of Lights Ceremony in the main lobby of Nathan Littauer Hospital. This cherished event serves as a symbol of hope, love, and remembrance, as the tree will be lit throughout December to honor and memorialize loved ones.

The Tree of Lights ceremony was held in conjunction with our Auxiliary’s Gift Shop Open House, which took place from 7:00 AM on December 2 to midnight on December 3.

Individuals honored and memorialized will be displayed in the hospital lobby, and the tree will shine brightly, representing the warmth and compassion of our community. Lights for the tree are available for a $5.00 donation each and are a special gift to recognize someone important in your life.

Thank you to those who attended the ceremony, and for supporting our mission and helping to make a difference in the lives of our patients and community.

Nathan Littauer Celebrates National Volunteer Week 2023

GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week from April 16 to April 22, 2023. This annual celebration honors the dedication and service of volunteers who selflessly give their time, energy, and resources to support the hospital’s mission of providing quality healthcare to the community.

As an integral part of the hospital, the auxiliary members and volunteers of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home play an important role in assisting with, and enhancing the quality of patient care and services the hospital provides. Whether it is assisting with administrative tasks, or supporting various departments in the hospital, its auxiliary and volunteers are a vital asset to its patient care services.

“Our volunteers are an essential part of our organization, and we’re thankful for all they do,” said Kelly Colby, Nathan Littauer Development Coordinator. “Their dedication, compassion, and generosity have a significant impact on the lives of our patients and their families. National Volunteer Week is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and appreciation for all they do.”

Nathan Littauer has a long-standing tradition of volunteerism and community service. The hospital’s auxiliary was established in 1894. Since its inception, the Auxiliary supports the hospital’s mission and raises funds for various projects and programs. Over the years, the auxiliary has grown to include many volunteers who dedicate hundreds of hours annually to the hospital.

During National Volunteer Week, Nathan Littauer will celebrate its volunteers and their contributions. They have received cards expressing thanks, and gift certificates to the local business, Cravings Bakery & Cafe.

“We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers and auxiliary members for their unwavering commitment to our hospital and community,” said Geoffrey Peck, Nathan Littauer’s Vice President of Business Development and Executive Director of the Nathan Littauer Foundation. “Their selfless service and compassion inspire us all, and we are honored to work alongside them.”
