The EVENT returns in 2023 as the Foundation serves up food and live entertainment to support the work of Nathan Littauer Hospital.This year, the June 16 EVENT will be held at the Eccentric Club, located at 109 North Main Street, Gloversville, NY. Guests from the community, local business leaders, medical staff, Littauer employees, and longtime friends will come together for an evening of celebration and support for the vital work of the hospital.Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will be used for the purchase of Hematology and Urinalysis analyzers for the Littauer laboratory – equipment that will perform thousands of tests each year. “The new analyzers will automate specimen processing that has been done manually,” said Nathan Littauer Laboratory Manager Ronald Fortes. “Utilizing technology will produce more accurate test results and allow laboratory technologists to complete a larger volume of tests daily.” “The equipment is expensive, but we expect to raise the majority of the $200,000 price tag with this year’s fundraiser,” added Foundation Executive Director Geoffrey Peck.Guests attending the EVENT will experience an atmosphere of real Vegas flash and style. On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home’s Birthing Center had received a beautiful, handmade quilt for the first baby born at the Birthing Center, in honor of National Quilting day. Baby girl Llewelyn Rae Gallup was born on March 20, 2023 at 4:03 a.m. She weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 20 inches in length. As the first baby born after the observance of National Quilting Day, Llewelyn and her parents, Emma Gallup and Anthony Covey, received the quilt from the Sew Busy Quilting Guild. “It was a pleasant surprise, in addition to bringing our baby girl into the world,” said Gallup. “We had no idea we’d receive something so nice, and it was a lovely gesture of the Sew Busy Quilting Guild.”From left: Emma Gallup (mom, baby girl Llewelyn Rae Covey, Anthony Covery (dad), and Nancy Frank of the Sew Busy Quilting Guild.The quilt, which features a charming design of light pastel colors and animals, was lovingly crafted by members of the Sew Busy Quilting Guild. He has been employed with Nathan Littauer for nearly four years in Nutritional Services and recently took the position of Public Relations Coordinator August 3.“During the interview process, Dakota stood out as someone who meets a challenging situation head-on, while approaching a myriad of situations with high degree flexibility,” says Cheryl McGrattan, Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “As a member of the NLH family for four years, his reputation as a team player focused on patient care preceded him.
