Littauer presents their first baby of 2016

GLOVERSVILLE – The Birthing Center at Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home announces the arrival of the first baby of the New Year 2016. Raymond Emile Meyer III, son of Brianna Perez of Gloversville and Raymond Emile Meyer II, was born at 8:26 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2016, weighing six pounds, seven ounces. He is the couple’s first child.

On Jan. 4, members of the Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home Auxiliary presented the couple with a gift of supplies and necessities worth over $350, a special presentation the auxiliary has done for over 30 years.

Annual Tree of Lights program kicks off with a special reason for the season

GLOVERSVILLE – The Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home Auxiliary annual Tree of Lights program was held Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 before a gathering of over 110 people in the Littauer Hospital lobby. Auxialian Rosanne Manuele, program co-chairman opened the ceremony saying, “This is a very special night and it means many different things to many people.”

Littauer President and CEO Laurence Kelly added, “There is a reason we are all here this evening as we remember someone special. Everyone here has a story that goes with a light on the tree.”

Auxialian and program co-chairman Donna Ellithorpe read a poem she composed for the evening and said, “Each of our loved ones is remembered with a light. It really touches our hearts.”

Susan McNeil, Volunteer Director said, “The Auxiliary plans the evening, and in coordination with various Littauer departments, we bring this all together.” McNeil went on to say, “It’s a team effort all the way, and that’s what makes this night so beautiful.”

Each guest was given a keepsake, 2015 dated ornament on behalf of the Auxiliary.

Auxilians Barb Tucci and family decorated the Tree. The Pastoral Care Coordinator at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home led the Blessing.

Littauer welcomes first baby of 2015

GLOVERSVILLE – The Birthing Center at Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home announces the arrival of their first baby of the New Year. Emma Noel Miller was born on Jan. 3, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Baby and mom Megan Miller of Gloversville are doing wonderfully. Emma joins a brother Aiden.

On Monday, members of the Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home Auxiliary presented the family with a gift of supplies and necessities worth $350, a special presentation the auxiliary has done for over 30 years.

Presenting the grand basket of gifts were: Auxilian Anita Beck, First Baby Gift Basket Chairman; Norma Cozzolino, Auxiliary President, and Susan McNeil, Director of Volunteer Services.

“The Auxiliary puts a tremendous amount of thought into the Baby New Year basket. What the parents leave with is a gift of the heart while being extremely practical as well,” stated Sue McNeil, Director of Volunteer Services at Nathan Littauer.

Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home Auxiliary hosts annual Card/Game Party Fundraiser

Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home Auxiliary hosted its annual Card/Game Party fundraiser Wednesday, Oct. 29 at The Holiday Inn in Johnstown.

Approximately fifty men and women attended, playing cards and board games, and enjoyed a delicious luncheon. The event raised $2500 to benefit the hospital. Anita Beck and Jeanne Wilkinson co-hosted the event and Suzanne Herrick, Patron Chairman also assisted in fundraiser. Gifts and gift certificates were donated by Laurence Kelly, NLH & NH Gift Shop, Longfellows and Olde Bryan Inn, Wine & Roses Restaurant, Holiday Inn, Union Hall Inn, Sam’s Steak & Seafood, Travers Family Restaurant,The Pizza Joint, Bowman’s Market, Mary Kay Gift Bag by Carl Sleezer, Handmade handbags by Eileen Wrightsman and Gladys Meola, Stained-Glass Butterfly by Mountain Valley Hospice. Winners were Carol Brookins, Barbara Cohen, Katherine Cozzolino, Carol Visconti, Carolyn Kovarik, Betty Burchell, Gladys Meola, Nancy Rodenmacher, Barbara Warner, Ruth Vlock, Sheila Sammons, Eileen Wadsworth, Anne Campos.

Prizes and gift certificates were also donated by Pecks Flowers, Al’s Pizzeria, Applebees, Embrees Wine & Spirits, Forget Me Knots, Harold’s Restaurant, Mendetta’s Pizzeria, and the Wine Barrel.
