Research shows that reading aloud to children is imperative for cognitive growth. And, it’s never too early to start reading to your child. Even newborns love to hear the rhythm and inflection of the human voice. The more you read to a baby, the more their brain will grow.The books are distributed to new mothers at The Birthing Center to encourage reading from the start. Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated hospitals that show expertise in delivering improved patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community. Ryder Xavier Henderson, son of Ashley Boles and Aaron Henderson of Gloversville, was born at 5:31 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2018, weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces.
